Apple New iPad 3 vs. Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1

With the arrival of new brand Apple iPad 3 there is a substantial increase in its sales in the recent times. No matter what analysts says Apple is always known for its sophisticated and perfectionist IPad’s. On the other side Motorola, one of the renowned mobile manufacturers in the world has come up with its new tablet called Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1 some time back. Let’ see how Motorola re-branded to deal with its nearest rival Apple iPad 3. Here we are comparing both the smart phones based on number of factors.

Xyboards

Ergonomics and Design:

The latest Apple iPad measures 9.4mm thickness, 185.7mm breadth wise and 241.2 mm lengthwise. It weighs about 662 grams. On the other side Xyboard measures at 8.8 mm thickness and its footprint measuring at 259.9 x 173.6mm. It is lighter than iPad3 with just 599 g. IPad 3 boast a 9.7 inch LED backlit display with 1536 x2048 resolutions. Its sharpness is measured at 264 ppi. It also has an oleophobic coating and a scratch resistant glass.

The Xyboard 10.1 has got 10.1 inch HD LCD display with its resolution measured at 800 x 1280 pixels. Its sharpness is 149 ppi. The Xyboard touch screen uses corning gorilla glass for protection.

Operating system:

As we all know that Apple is a most innovative and specialist mobile manufacturer in the world. In the past it has revolutionized its operating system many times and is continuous to do so in the present also. The Apple’s latest iPad is powered by new iOS (5.1) operating system. This OS has got some new features to offer it users.

Connectivity:

When it comes to the network connectivity both the tablets are well connected with CDMA and GSM 2G networks. Using LTE 700 MHz you can also connect to 4G thus by expanding its network capacity. While iPad 3 comes with both the versions of Verizon and AT&T network connectivity, Motorola’s Droid Xyboard supports only Verizon version. The speed of HSDPA is about 42 Mbps whereas that of LTE is 73 Mbps. You can connect to wireless network through Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n. Apple iPad 3 supports Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 2.0 whereas Droid Xyboard supports Bluetooth 2.1 and USB 2.0 for local connectivity.

Battery life:

The iPad 3 is powered by Li-Po strong battery that comes with a capacity of 11,560 mAh. On the other hand Droid Xyboard makes use of Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 7000 mAh.

Price:

The Apple iPad 3 costs about $555 whereas Droid Xyboard is available for $629.

Verdict:

There is no doubt Motorola Droid Xyboard is a good Smartphone but it is not enough to deal with Apple iPad 3 in almost all the departments. Thanks to the perfectionist Apple iPad 3.
